Beyond Education

“God has created me to do some definite service. He has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another….I have a mission” With ‘Grow More Good’ as our guiding principle the school propagates Environmental awareness, love for nature and concern for fellow human beings, it is taught to students by participation in various activities of community development projects under the guidance of teachers associated with it.

Friendship

The project of Mobile Library was introduced by us in the year 2006 in order to cater to the needs of less privileged children of Orphanages who are otherwise deprived of extra reading material. We selected two ashrams to begin with, Sarvodya Bal Ashram at Durgapur and Kasturba Balika Ashram Rockwood. The work is carried out by member students of XI Commerce under the guidance of teacher incharge. The objective of this exercise is to engage our students in a fruitful social activity which would make them better human beings and they will learn the concept of sharing and caring. Each visit by the students help in inculcating good reading habits in the inmates of these ashrams.

Project Hope

We feel that rather than treating environment as a global issue and talking big, we should take it up as a local issue and treat it at the grass root level. To make our children realize this fact a new initiative has been taken up by students of XII to form a group called ‘Hope A Humantarian Organization for Pure Earth’. These students have adopted one class each in the school and they hold an interactive session with their class every week where they talk about environment and health issues.

Harmony With Nature

Another effort is made by the students of class X to make the school green. The project is called ‘Green School Project’: in this the students took the responsibility of bringing potted plants and taking care of them. On our part a green house has been maintained for the safety of plants and a gardener has also been appointed.
